Then it is time to start. I would suggest the Suzuki Method. The Japanese normally start 2 year olds with this method. At 30 I started the violin hobby and this method was great and easy to learn for someone with no musical ability. I say buy a 1/4 size student violin and get the CD and Volume 1 for them.

Now. Get them started but make it fun, pick a tutor who is good with children and encourage them to practice (but do not pressurise0, but remember make it fun! ensure they listen to lots of different music, get them to sing and join in, make it fun. Play music with them (I do duets with my flute playing daughter)

I agree with Shell! # years is good and go to the suzuki method! but don’t push them too much or they will lozse interest.
